There is one particular viral traffic echange style site that is alot different from the rest - in a good way.  This site has you visit other sites daily to move up your place in the directory where other members will visit your site and so on.  Kind of like a traffic exchange mated with a directory.

I have been using LinkReferral for some time, usually to get a site “kick-started” or to test various copy.  It works well for this purpose because the traffic is nearly instant.  The downside is to continue recieving traffic, you need to at least log in daily.

The other side of LinkRefferal is that you can give and recieve reviews to other members.  Nice if you are looking for input on your site because most of the reviewers actually give you decent feedback and suggestions.

I mention this because I was just using it to get feedback on a landing page copy and just had to smile at how fast and easy it is.  Now, this won’t give you a flood of traffic, but an extra 20 - 50 visitors a day plus a chance to network seems worth it to me.

Heres a quick free traffic tip that uses PRWeb, but not as a press release. I stumbled on this by accident because it is so subtle, but now that I am wise to it…

Well, here goes. If you are blogging, why not from time to time touch on Industry news with information from a press release? It’s good content, relevant information. Ok, so you make a post about a news release on your blog and trackback PRWeb.com using the trackback link in the press release.

This will give you a link on the pressrelease at the bottom under “Trackbacks”. See this example:
http://www.prweb.com/releases/2007/1/prweb499960.htm

Obviously, to be most effective, you would want to choose popular press releases. I know this only scratches the surface of the free traffic available to bloggers using trackbacks, but we will save the rest for another time. For now, this is a simple and effective trick. Have fun!

I decided to to some reading last night for the first time in what seems like forever and I read a really good free ebook that some of you might be interested in.

The ebook is “Super Blogging” and it was released yesterday by the guys from LightMindSoftware.

I started reading this and simply couldn’t stop - it was good, relevant and brand new info on how to get traffic and make money with blogging. I will warn you, it discusses some black-hat techniques, so if thats not your style you may want to pass, but for those who wear hats of any color - this is an excellent read.
