When it comes to traffic, I have tested just about everything to get more traffic to my network of websites. In five years, I have seen many traffic building techniques come and go - some are short lived and many are long term marketing fundamentals. Still others claimed to work, but didn't ammount to any visitors at all.

What I learned was that there are so very many ways to get free targeted traffic to your site. You would be amazed at the traffic you can get from simple things, like adding a sig file to forum posts, or participating in one or more of the many new social communities you see everywhere.

Many new marketers have begun to believe that the only way to get traffic is from search engines and services like Google Adwords. Wrong! Although, at one time I truly believed that that was the best way to go - I have changed my tune once I saw that search engines ammounted for only a fraction - 14% of my traffic network wide. And, most of my sites are ranked well organically!

While I still use Adwords and you should too - there is one thing that is just plain true. There is no better converting traffic than free traffic. Say what? Thats right, every sale (or click, or lead) you make from traffic you don't spend a penny to attract is money right in your pocket.

Besides, free traffic is easy to get when you know how. Any time I launch a site, I get no less than 100 visitors on my first day of launch - totally free. Better than 75% of the time, when I launch a new site it makes back it's registration fee in profit on that very day. How's that for ROI?

Don't worry, I know you are thinking that free traffic takes time and time is money, right? Absolutely! However, the free traffic techniques that I use and recomend are set and forget, rinse and repeat. Sure it takes time to set up... but not much. And, the results are still seen in traffic months and even years later.

Let's face it, if you have a website you need traffic. Unless you are independantly wealthy, you probably don't have thousands of dollars each month for an ad budget. That's ok and put away the credit card - you wont need it.
